Pet Emergencies

If you believe your pet is suffering from an emergency during business hours, please call us right away so our staff can help you determine the best course of action for your beloved pet. Pets presenting with a life-threatening emergency during business hours will be triaged, and may be transferred to the nearest emergency hospital depending on the situation.

The following symptoms require urgent veterinary intervention; please call right away so our trained reception staff can advise you on the best course of action for your pet:

  • Seizures
  • Bleeding that is excessive or won’t stop
  • Struggling to breathe
  • Is unconscious
  • Is struggling or unable to urinate
  • Ate a known toxic substance
  • Ate a known foreign object
  • Sudden swelling with or without pain
  • Suddenly unable to walk or dragging limbs
  • Known trauma such as hit by car, fall from a height, crushed by falling furniture
  • Sudden blindness
  • Pregnant and struggling to deliver
  • Vomiting or diarrhea more than 24 hours
  • Heat related illness or heatstroke
