Prescription & Pharmacy Policy
Belton Animal Clinic & Exotic Care Center is committed to the highest standards of care for every patient. A critical part of that commitment is ensuring that every medication we prescribe is safe, authentic, and effective. For that reason, our clinic fulfills prescriptions only through our in-house pharmacy or our trusted online pharmacy partner. Clients who prefer an alternative may request a written prescription to fill at a pharmacy of their choice, or we can call in a script to a local pharmacy.
A Note from Our Team
We recognize this policy may feel like a change, but we want you to know that every decision we make is in service of better outcomes for your pet. We will always honor your right to a written prescription; we simply ask that you understand why we believe filling it with us is the safer choice.
How to Fill a Prescription
- At Our Clinic: Most medications are available on-site.
- With Our Online Pharmacy: Convenient home delivery with verified medications.
- With a Written Prescription: Provided upon request for any patient with a current exam.
Why This Policy Exists
- Privacy Protection: Your personal information and your pet's medical history belong to you. We do not transmit that data to outside vendors as part of prescription processing.
- Product Safety: Medications dispensed through our clinic or approved pharmacy partner come with manufacturer backing. If a product fails or causes harm, we can pursue support and reimbursement on your behalf.
- Quality Assurance: Proper storage and handling are essential to medication safety. We cannot verify those conditions for products sourced outside our supply chain, where counterfeit or compromised products are a known risk.
- Continuity of Care: When we manage the full prescription process, we can respond quickly if something needs to change, avoiding gaps or delays in your pet's treatment.
